DoDApps is a small software company in Durham, North Carolina, making recordkeeping tools for commercial and public safety drone programs.

The paperwork should take care of itself.

Every flight already creates the data. DoDApps exists to catch it, file it, and have it ready the day someone asks. Software should do the bookkeeping so pilots can do the flying.

A Bull City company

DoDApps was founded in 2021 in Durham, North Carolina, a few blocks from the American Tobacco District. The Bull City has spent two decades turning old factories into software companies, and we are glad to be part of that.

The Research Triangle gives us an unusual bench: aviation people from the region's universities and public agencies, and software people who have shipped at scale. Most of us fly Part 107 missions ourselves, which is why the product cares more about records than features.

We are pilots, developers, and program managers.

We have flown utility inspections in August heat, mapped ditches for flood models, and answered the audit letters nobody wants to get. DoDApps is the tooling we kept wishing existed.

DoDApps is built by and based in Durham, North Carolina. The rules that made 2021 a turning point for this industry, the Remote ID final rule and the new night operations framework, are the same rules this product was shaped by.
